How to get our diapers
The Athens Area Diaper Bank distributes diapers through the following partner agencies that serve families in the Athens area (Clarke, Oconee, Barrow, Jackson, Madison, and Oglethorpe counties).
Organizations marked * can accept emergency walk-in requests for diapers. We recommend you contact them first. We do not distribute diapers directly to families.

- Acceptance Recovery Center Acceptance Recovery Center leads those displaced by addiction through care, support, and education into long-term recovery.
- Advantage Behavioral Health Systems, Women's Shelter A residential program for pregnant women or women with children who have a substance-related disorder.
- Adventure Bags Provides age- and gender-specific backpacks, filled with essential and comfort items, to children entering foster care or other agencies throughout Georgia.
- Athens Area Emergency Food Bank* Meets the food needs for families or individuals who live in Athens-Clarke County who are faced with emergencies.
- Athens Area Homeless Shelter Provides safe, comfortable living space with trained and compassionate staff for families, combined with comprehensive services to guide families to employment and stable housing.
- Athens-Clarke County Library The mission of the Athens-Clarke County Libraries is to provide information and resources which address the needs of the community, foster enjoyment and a love of reading, and provide a repository of the history and culture of Athens-Clarke County.
- Athens Community Council on Aging* The ACCA's "Grandparents Raising Grandchildren" program supports non-parent caregivers living in Barrow, Clarke, Jackson, Madison, Oconee and Walton counties who are the full-time, primary caregivers of a child.
- Athens First United Methodist Church* Athens First United Methodist in downtown Athens has a history of serving our community, nation, and world.
- Brightpaths (formerly Prevent Child Abuse Athens) Dedicated to preventing child abuse in all of its forms through education, support and public awareness.
- Bulldog Basics Bulldog Basics at UGA provides personal care and toiletry items to University of Georgia students on the Athens campus.
- Campus Kitchen The Campus Kitchen at UGA is the student-powered hunger relief program of the UGA Office of Service-Learning. We exist to spotlight sustainable solutions to hunger and food waste and to showcase a mutually beneficial university-community partnership. Campus Kitchen runs a weekly food recovery and redistribution enterprise led by UGA student volunteers.
- Children First* Dedicated to promoting safe homes for children in times of family crisis. Includes four programs: Athens-Oconee CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Family Time Community Visitation, SPARC (Supportive Parenting and Access Resource Center), and Safe Care.
- Children's Medical Services* Children’s Medical Services (CMS) is a statewide program that supports low-income children, youth and young adults (birth-21) with special healthcare needs and their families.
- Chosen for Life Ministries Provides education, awareness, and support for potential and current adoptive and foster families in the Athens-Clarke-Oconee area.
- City of Refuge Athens City of Hope Athens brings relief to the needy and homeless by providing meals for the homeless, providing warm clothing for the homeless, and providing meals for students during school breaks.
- Clarke County School District - Early Head Start Home-Based Program The Early Head Start Home-Based program provides services to pregnant women, infants, and toddlers to promote the school readiness of young children from families with low incomes. EHS promotes the school readiness of children from birth to 3 years old by enhancing their cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Community Christmas of Oglethorpe We are folks from all walks of life coming together to make sure the ALL children in our community have a safe place to live, with water and electricity, clothes and shoes that fit, and a few fun items to experience God’s amazing love at Christmas, all of which is another way of saying “fulfilling God’s desire for all children.”
- Covenant Presbyterian* Covenant Presbyterian is on the Eastside of Athens, and serves those in need. Diapers are distributed through their Neighborhood Ministries.
- Deliverance Temple Ministries* Advancing the Kingdom of God through giving and ministering to the needs of families in our community who are living below the poverty level.
- Division of Family and Children Services - Clarke County The Georgia Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS) investigates reports of child abuse; finds foster and adoptive homes for abused and neglected children; issues SNAP, Medicaid and TANF; helps out-of-work parents get back on their feet; and provides numerous support services and innovative programs to help families in need.
- EncourageH.E.R. Academy We are dedicated to providing a platform for young girls that will encourage support, growth, empowerment and strength by delivering these methods through safe spaces of collaboration, communication and fellowship.
- Family Connection - Communities in Schools of Athens* Supports Neighborhood Leaders and Site Coordinators who work one-on-one with students and their families in neighborhoods and schools. FC-CIS works in collaboration with government officials, local and state experts, entrepreneurs, executives, nonprofit directors, and others to identify the social, emotional, and academic needs of children in Athens-Clarke County, and ensure they get the support they need to graduate from high school.
- Family Promise (formerly Interfaith Hospitality Network of Athens)* Provides immediate shelter and guidance to homeless families with children, due to the impact of misfortunes upon their lives. Once accepted into our program, IHNA provides food, shelter, daycare, and transportation as needed.
- Foothills Education Charter High School Foothills Education Charter High School is a community and state resource for students who want to earn a high school diploma in order to be successful in post-secondary and career options.
- Oasis Católico Santa Rafaela* Oasis Católico Santa Rafaela was founded by the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, an international order of Sisters, in September 2002. Since then, the Sisters have been serving the families of the community with the help of many volunteers, various partnerships, and generous donors.
- Peace Place Empowers victims and survivors of domestic violence through safe shelter and supportive services in Banks, Barrow, and Jackson counties.
- Project Safe Working to end domestic violence through crisis intervention, ongoing supportive services, systems change advocacy, and prevention and education in the community.
- St. Joseph's Charities Offering a hand up rather than a handout. St. Joseph Charities assists our parishioners and others in our community who have emergency financial needs. We serve Clarke, Oconee, Jackson, Madison and Oglethorpe counties and work by appointment only.
- The Sparrow's Nest* The Sparrow’s Nest is a Christian ministry center for those in need in Athens, GA. Centrally located in Athens, their facility includes meeting and dining rooms, laundry and shower facilities, and space to organize and distribute clothing and food.
- Waggoner's Grove Baptist Church* Serving God's people through giving and ministering to the needs of people who need immediate help. Located in Madison County.
- WIC - Northeast Health District* The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program provides women and young children in low-income families with services to help improve pregnancy outcome, reduce infant mortality and give children a healthy start through nutritious supplemental food and education. Diapers are distributed through Breastfeeding Peer Counselors.
- WOW Community Outreach Center WOW Community Outreach Center, Inc. is a nonprofit ministry to service the people of Athens, Georgia with a specific concentration on the impoverished regions of the Danielsville Road area. We were birthed from the hearts of the Rhema Christian Fellowship congregation, whom have been a cornerstone in this community for many years.
